Founded over 30 years ago in Downtown Northville, Handcrafters began as a charming brick-and-mortar store created by Molly P. and Sue Smith. Their shop’s success inspired the launch of what would become one of Michigan’s most celebrated craft shows—a place where the finest artists and makers from the Midwest could gather under one roof. Their vision? To host a show known for high quality, strong attendance, and a loyal community—and that’s exactly what they built.

In 2008, the Handcrafters brand was proudly passed to Stephanie Jones and her team, whose passion for supporting handmade artistry led to the creation of Mercantile Events & Marketing. For Stephanie, the work is personal—her own mother has been a vendor at Handcrafters for over 30 years.

Today, Handcrafters Handmade Markets continues its legacy in downtown Plymouth, MI, offering a juried selection of the Midwest’s top artisans. With three seasonal events—Spring Fling, Fall Fair, and Tinsel & Treasures—the shows draw thousands of shoppers who love handmade goods, community spirit, and exceptional craftsmanship. Recognized as one of the Top 50 craft shows in the country, Handcrafters remains a must-visit market for those who value quality, creativity, and connection.
